Winter is the season in which romance flourishes. Romantic weekend getaways are the flavour of June and July. It would seem then that there is no better way to celebrate nuptials than with a weekend affair. In true #soleilstyle a romantic winter wedding would naturally be full of love, warmth, colour and brilliance.

#1 – For a romantic wedding the venue certainly sets the tone. Hosting the celebration at a manor for a weekend sets a warm and inviting tone. Not only does it give your guests a weekend away but allows you to party all through the night without having to fret about darting between locations. The views are something to behold and the fireplaces are worth snuggling up too. We admire these venues; Maleny Manor in QLD, Any of these in Byron Bay NSW, the opulent Marybrooke Manor in VIC, or how about this Western Australian beauty.

#2 – We are simply in love with Anna Campbell’s latest collection - Spirit. The stunningly intricate detail on this gown would be perfectly accompanied with a beautiful shawl.

#3 – Nothing says winter more than a bouquet of pastel peonies accompanied with fresh greenery. We love this bunch by Blush and Bloom it softly combines colour with winter warmth.

#4 – Place settings are an invitation to relax. This setting from Jen and Joel’s wedding simply has us in awe.

#5 – A romantic wedding isn’t complete without a soleil diamond, our Début truly is love at first sight and perfectly matched with the Début Wedder, it’s the perfect pair.

#6 – The cooler weather doesn’t mean that as a bride you can’t look absolutely stunning and be warm too. A fur shawl or long sleeve full- length gown is the epitome of winter elegance as this bride styled on her day.

#7 – The brides attention to detail is seen in the cake. This beautiful cake that definitely looks far too good to eat by Sweet Bakes cleanly finished and simply styled.

#1 – How about jumping on a big jet plane, popping over to NYC and getting hitched at city hall? Lots of couples do it and some even decide to meet their friends and family at a restaurant afterwards for a post-nuptials party.

#2 – We believe in a ‘there are no rules’ approach wedding attire. Some eloping brides will adopt a less traditional approach to the white dress, some will throw all the rules out the window and others will stick with the long white wedding gown. If you do opt for a shorter, cocktail length dress, choose shoes that are truly outstanding. We love this elopement set in a chapel in Puerto Rico, where the bride and groom went for a classic black and white palette.

#3 – We fancy it to be a pretty fabulous idea to have all the guests stay together in a luxury home, somewhere scenic, in the lead up to the wedding. We were inspired by this elopement.

#4 – Just say yes to Italy. If that didn’t convince you, this elopement will.

#5 – A seaside destination is dreamy for an elopement. Firstly, because you can incorporate subtle nautical styling and secondly, because you don’t have to travel anywhere to start your beachside honeymoon.

#6 – What exchange of vows would be complete without a stunning wedding band to match your dream engagement ring? We think our Jolie engagement ring and wedder make a beautiful couple.

There are few more romantic wedding locations than a rustic winery with stacks of old world charm and surrounded by breathtaking scenery. With cooler weather on the way, now is one of the loveliest times of year for an outdoor Australian wedding. It’s cool enough to have your ceremony in the late afternoon sunshine, but still warm enough to set the reception outside.

Our vision for a vineyard wedding involves burgundy and rosé hued flowers, white linens, crystal glassware, long wooden tables and dinner served at sunset.

#1 – A winery wedding will naturally (hopefully) involve wine at some point along the course of the celebrations. We love the idea of pegging each guest’s place card to the top of their wine glass.

#2 – There is something about the combination of timber and a bordeaux colour palette. It’s a truly romantic union. Serve your guests dinner as they are seated along long timber tables under festoon lights.

#3 – Just because you choose to have the ceremony outside doesn’t mean you have ditch the glamorous gown and veil. In fact, the inherent luxury of the winery setting could make the perfect backdrop to an elegant choice of dress. We are leaning towards vintage styling.

#4 – Roses, please use roses in the floral arrangements. Not everyone is a lover of these traditional blooms but alongside glasses of vino, dark red and white roses will look spectacular. For table arrangements keep the flowers low to the table to promote conversation and the clinking of glasses.

#5 – We’ve canvassed this already but to reiterate, dark florals alongside lush greenery will complement the surroundings. Nothing ties the styling together like a beautiful bouquet.

#6 –  Take advantage of the natural beauty and have the ceremony overlooking the vines. Arrange rows of timber benches or antique wooden chairs for guests to sit on. A late afternoon ceremony will provide perfect lighting and allows for a smooth transition into the reception celebrations.

For those of us lucky enough to live in Australia, despite loving every minute of summertime, we are eagerly anticipating the cool change that March will (may) bring. All this cold weather contemplation has got us considering the perfect autumn wedding colour palette. In true #soleilstyle an autumn wedding would naturally incorporate gilded elements.

We are embracing the notion of ‘less is more’ this month. Modern simplicity need not be boring, but rather if executed well, a minimal aesthetic can add elegance and timelessness to your wedding day.

#1 – A classic 0.50ct princess cut diamond on a white gold band. Our ‘Amour’ ring will hold its appeal for generations to come.

#2 – The French know a little bit about making a statement with simplicity. We love the style of wedding dress designers extraordinare, Carnets de Marriage, and this gown is a definite favourite of ours.

#3 – We think that this bride epitomises the grace and style that every bride wants on their wedding day. Her dress, veil and hair will  surely fail to go out of fashion.

#4 – When is comes to the fleurs, we advocate for crisp whites, vibrant greens and neutral tones to add to the fresh colour palette. We loved how full this bouquet was, proving that you don’t have to go bright to be bold.

We’ve collected some of our favourite inspiration for planning a New Years Eve wedding. Please note the excess of gold.

On a separate note, the team at Soleil Diamonds would like to wish you a beautiful and wonderful 2015!

 #1 – A December 31st wedding is an ideal time to slip on the sequins and sparkles. Some brides prefer to stay away from the traditional white dress and a glamorous, sequinned gown is lovely alternative. The gown featured here is by Ziolkowski (image by Lara Hotz).

#2 – We think that incorporating the New Years novelties into the table settings and styling adds to the excitement of the evening. #3 – Keep the party atmosphere alive with quirky details and delicious treats to keep your guests dancing up until the countdown. We absolutely love this wedding, photographed by a favourite of ours Lara Hotz, featured on Hello May. We think this cake topper says it all.

#4 – Our Début ring would add the necessary amount of glamour to New Years Eve nuptials. Lust after it here.

#6 – Midnight is a opportunity for silly hats and a lot of sparklers. The idea of a post-countdown, sparkler send off is completely adorable (like the one here) and makes for great photographs.

#6 – Bright blooms are a beautiful way to introduce a rainbow of colours to the table settings. Choose hardy varieties of flowers if the ceremony is outside so that the heat doesn’t effect them too much over the course of the party. #7 – Fresh whites for the whole bridal party are perfect for this time of year. Inject the colourful elements with accessories and bouquets. We loved this real wedding captured by Lara Holtz (whom we adore).
